Moondance Cottage is a newly renovated home nestled on the beautiful 170 acre Lermond Pond at the end of a quiet dead end road. This half acre tranquil escape has beautiful views of Lermond Pond and all the modern amenities needed to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable vacation. The cottage sleeps 8 comfortably with 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The open concept of the living room, dining, and kitchen with cathedral ceilings allows the beautiful morning sunlight as well as views of the water. The main living area also now is complete with air conditioning to make you comfortable on warm days.  This cottage is large enough for families but also intimate for a romantic getaway.  The wood burning fireplace in the living room is perfect to take the edge off chilly nights. Curl up with a book or cocktail on the front deck while the loons sing and dance in the evenings. 

The main level has 2 bedrooms, a king bedroom and then second bedroom has a second king bedroom that can be converted to twins upon request. Both rooms have nice closet space. The full bathroom has double sinks as well as a tub/shower combination. The loft on the second floor has a cute reading nook as well as a king bedroom that can be converted to twins upon request. Comfort and attention to detail are noticeable throughout the house - from family board games, TV with Roku for streaming movies, to multiple-seating areas throughout the house for privacy, guests will love the comfort of staying at Moondance Cottage. 

The basement was recently finished off for an additional living area (with heat and AC), queen bed, and full bathroom with stall shower. It is accessible via stairs from inside or outside ground level access into a mudroom for ease when swimming or grilling. The laundry area is also in the basement.  

Lermond Pond offers great fishing and recreation. Please be aware of the town ordinances for watercrafts and rules to keep Lermond Pond clean and safe for everyone. Union is a short drive from the house where the Union House of Pizza has a variety of takeout food while Sterlingtown Public House has a beer garden and locally sourced farm-to-table menus. The Common Market is the closest grocery shopping store located in Union. Rockland and Camden are both 20 minutes from the cottage which have great dining, shopping, and waterfront views. Moondance Cottage is centrally located for a day trip to Bar Harbor (2 hour drive from the cottage). 

Lermond Pond Fishing & Water Information.

BOATS INCLUDED? None, however, if you are looking to rent kayaks, Maine Sport or Ducktrap Kayaks offer those and can deliver them to the Property. Personal Watercrafts (jet skis) are not permitted on Lermond Pond. Power boats are allowed on Lermond Pond, but there is a public launch at Alford Lake, which is a 6-minute drive from the cottage. The pond is great for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and SUPs , and is easily launched from the cottage. 

FISHING TRIPS: This is a great place to go fishing. Maine Guide Mike Kinney can take Guests fishing and will pick them up at the dock in his boat. Contact Mike through his website at FISHING GUIDE to reserve a guided fishing trip on Lermond Pond.

LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels. Beds will be made up upon arrival, and there will be one bath towel and washcloth per listed occupancy, one hand bath towel per bedroom, one bath mat towel per bathroom, and two kitchen towels in the kitchen. Additional bath towels can be rented.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: No, the owner of this property does not require a security deposit, however, guests are still financially responsible for non-accidental damages at the property. On the Water may require a refundable security deposit if the Guest does not have an established history with the agency. 

PROPERTY SPECIFICS:
Cleaning: The property will be cleaned before and after the rental. Above normal cleaning charges will be billed to guest at current hourly rate.
Air Conditioning: Yes, in the main living room and basement area (Heat/AC pumps). Ceiling fans and/or other fans are in each bedroom.
Heat Source: 1st floor bedrooms, bathroom, and loft bedroom are heated by forced hot air. The 1st floor bathroom also has a heat fan. Main areas and basement living area are heat pumps. Basement bathroom has an electric wall heater on a timer. 
Washer & Dryer: Yes, in basement
Dishwasher: Yes
Coffee Maker: Yes, standard automatic drip with filters
Internet Access: Yes, Wi-Fi
Beach towels: Yes, the owner does provide beach towels for guest use
TV: TV in living room and basement have Roku with a login to personal streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, etc.. There is also a DVD player in the basement.
Grill: Propane gas grill
Usable Fireplace: Yes, wood fireplace. Owner supplies firewood. 
Outdoor Firepit: Yes, propane firepit on lower patio. No wood fires are allowed on the property except for the fireplace inside the house. 
Water Source: Well water, OK to drink from tap.
Trash Removal: Included with rental on Friday mornings

Water Frontage: Yes, directly on Lermond Pond.

Property good for boats: No, there is a a public launch at Alford Lake, which is a 6 minute drive from the cottage. The water access from the property is great for kayaking, canoeing, and SUP launching. 
Property good for fishing: Yes, Lermond Pond is great for fishing.
Dock/Pier Access: Yes, private dock and swim float, great for swimming or enjoying a cocktail.

Smoking Is Not Permitted anywhere on or inside of any of our rental properties nor are those who may partake in tobacco smoking allowed to occupy any of our properties.

Occupancy may not exceed what is posted for each home. Maximum occupancy could include infants and children.

Amenities offered through On the Water in Maine Inc. are not available at all the properties we offer for rent. Boat Rentals through Maine Watercraft Rentals Inc. are offered Sunday morning to Friday after 4pm and include free delivery to the property. Check with an agent to find out what boats are available to rent at this property, or, when you process the booking here online, only the boats available for the property will be listed as available to rent.
